Some Taiwan LED companies strengthened their development on the LED lighting segment, as LED lighting market was expected to increase about 50% in 2011 by industry sources.
Epistar estimated that the ratio of LED lighting products to its total production would grow up to 30% in 2011 from 20% in 2010, while Tekcore and Formosa Epitaxy both were expected to add ratios to 30% in 4Q10.
Also, Everlight Electronics expected the LED lighting business to reach NT$1.5 billion (US$49.78 million) in 2011, accounting for 10% of total sales, compared to 5-6% in 2010.
Meanwhile, LED packaging company Unity Opto Technology wanted to expand sales of its LED lighting products to NT$2-2.5 billion in 2011 compared to NT$1-1.1 billion projected for 2010.
