Macroblock together with Mirle developed an LED display control system

FPD equipment maker Mirle Automation and LED driver IC designer Macroblock had jointly developed an LED display control system—— Mirle 503.

Mirle noted the Mirle 503 had a built-in Macroblock MBI5042 16-channel constant current LED driver with 16-bit PWM (pulse width modulation) control. With the MBI5042, all output channels could be built with 16-bit color depth (65,536 gray scales).

In 2009, both Macroblock and Mirle set up an automation equipment plant in Shanghai with investing NT$120 million (US$4.02 million). And they aimed to develop LED display control solutions targeting the LED outdoor-display market in China.

Mirle pointed out Shanghai plant would handle the sales of the LED display control systems, and it’s expected that 2010 revenues for the plant would reach NT$900 million and 2011 revenues of NT$1.5 billion.

At present, Mirle 503 has been adopted by China-based LED display maker Leder Optoelectronic Technology. Also, Mirle has seen its order visibility extended to 2Q11.
