Taiwan`s Green Energy Industry Likely to have a Vigorous Growth

There is a surging interest in green energy after Japan`s nuclear power plant incident, Taiwan`s green energy industry also has made a spark.

According Jerry J.R. Ou, director general of the Bureau of Energy, under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan`s green energy industry is poised to experience a round of vigorous growth in the coming years, with its output value expected to top NT$1 trillion by 2015, inducing NT$200 billion of private investment and creating 110,000 job vacancies.

Among Taiwan`s green energy industry boasted output value of NT$380 billion in 2010, the photovoltaic industry shared NT$200 billion and the LED industry owned NT$160 billion. Ou pointed out that Taiwan-made LED components and backlight modules ranked first place in volume and second place in value.

Recently, the 1111 manpower databank has release a report that 65% of salaried persons are interested in working in the green energy industry.

As a result, there are a promising future waiting for Taiwan`s green energy industry.
