America Develops the World's Largest OLED Color Flexible Display

Recently, the University of Arizona and Flexible Electronics and Displays Center (FEDC) successfully produced the world's largest OLED color flexible display prototype with mixed oxide thin film transistor (TFT). The display is jointly developed by FEDC and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, the size is 14.7 inches, which is the twice size of the model reached a world record.

This new flexible display prototype uses new OLED materials, it enhances performance, improves packaging technology and has attractive features such as small thickness, light weight, bendability and ruggedness, which can meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense on the full-color motion video flexible OLED displays.

The mixed oxide thin film transistors can be produced on the basis of the existing amorphous silicon production line, no special equipment and techniques needed, compared with other similar technologies, it has significant cost advantages, providing a cost-efficient method for producing multi-color, high response, low power consumption flexible displays, which can meet the requirements of the next generation of consumer-level flexible displays.
