Named L-INK, the design by Jean-Sebastien Lagrange simply looks like a decorative poster. It is in fact a sheet of paper covered with conductive ink. This special ink turns on LEDs when the circuit is completed, achieved by folding up the bottom of the poster to allow two magnets to touch. LEDs are scattered across the pattern, with a row placed along the fold, creating an ambient uplight.

Wires are hidden behind the poster to connect it to a power supply. The bottom of the poster is cleverly cut at an angle, so it looks straight when folded up on one side. The original design offers a stylish lighting solution which creates a soft mood light whilst also saving space. The designer claims that anyone can recreate the poster simply by printing the ink on a sheet of paper in the same pattern.

A spokesperson for Lights 4 Living commented on the L-INK:
“We are constantly seeing new lighting ideas, and they are getting more and more innovative. The future of lighting is set to be very exciting. When buying lighting these days, there is a vast array of options. You can easily find something that suits your needs, space, style and budget. There’s no need to settle for boring lights anymore.”
