Belkin Released Affordable LED Lighting Starter Kit

Belkin is taking advantage of the wave of growing interest for smart lighting by introducing their LED lighting Starter Set. WeMo was first introduced at last year’s CES and is now available for purchase at US $129, much lower their their smart lighting competitors such as Philips Hue. The set comes with two LED smart bulbs and the WeMo link, according to an article by The Verge.

The automated light switch comes with various functions including “dim to sleep” where light can be programs to gradually dim as you fall asleep. Through the WeMo app, appliances can be controlled via smartphone by Wi-Fi remotely. The LED smart bulbs can replace 60 Watt incandescent bulbs and have 800 lumens and a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin.

Although no warranty has been released yet, at such an affordable price, this starter kit is sure to put pressure on its competitors.
