Philips India and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) have teamed up to give the Gateway of India a spectacular lighting makeover on January 24th.
According to Voyagers World, the historic monument will become more colorful as it gets a new energy-efficient LED lighting system called Philips Color Kinetics will illuminate the façade and mast of the iconic Gateway of India.
Dr Jagdish Patil, Managing Director, MTDC, said: “For tourists as well as Mumbaikars, the Gateway of India, has been a favourite place to hang around and spend time in leisure. Besides, the monument is one of the most important photographic icons of Mumbai. It is a delight to see a company like Philips taking the initiative of transforming the night time view of the Gateway of India with lights. With a successful record of lighting up historical monuments in India, we are sure that Philips will yet again bring alive and transform Mumbai’s most admired monument through various possibilities of lighting.”
