Philips Believes the Future of Light in the UAE is Digital and Bright

Philips, the world’s leader in lighting is proud to support the announcement of the Di (ESMA) on its indoor lighting standard, because moving to the digital technologies in lighting will positively impact people’s lives. Named last week as one of the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies by Forbes Magazines, Philips believes that adopting more energy efficient lighting solutions such as LED technology will not only help save the environment, it will also allow people to create inspiring environments that can improve lives.

"We are at the forefront of a digital revolution in lighting. At Philips, our commitment is not only to create a healthier and more sustainable world, but also to create breakthrough innovations that will change how people think about light," said Rami Hajjar, General Manager Philips Lighting Middle East. "The Government has taken a great step to help provide greater energy efficiency for all in the UAE and we would like to help make that change even more exciting."

Philips has pioneered many of the key breakthroughs in lighting over the past 121 years, beginning with the traditional light bulb, and is now ready to help the UAE transform into an intelligent lighting nation. There are a full range of replacements available to consumers including: halogen, compact fluorescent and LED which are all retrofit solutions for current lighting fixtures, including candles for chandeliers which are popular in the UAE.

"While light is fundamental to life and living, many of us take light for granted. When you come home, you normally switch on the light, dim it and switch it off. Imagine being able to set the color or a range of colors in each room of your house depending on your mood," said Hajjar. "Better yet, the Philips LED bulb has up to 15 years in lifespan, giving home owners a long-lasting peace of mind."
