Foxconn Subsidiary AOT vies for Top Spot in LED Industry

LED package manufacturer Advanced Optoelectronic Technology (AOT), subsidiary of Foxconn Group, has released their financial report for fiscal 2013, the company’s  Earnings Per Share (EPS) NT $5.29 (US $0.79) last year, according to Commercial Times. This is not only the highest in the company’s history, but also has earned them the top spot in the LED industry.

Everlight legal persons estimate a NT $3.8 EPS. Although Epistar profited, the company is projected to undergo only small profit and loss. Manufacturers who profited last year were few as the industry continues digesting chip production and is facing fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers.

AOT actively transformed their company after becoming a part of Foxconn,, according to Apple Daily. Aside from entering into the LED backlight and lighting market, the company also combined with Foxconn resources and broke into the LED automotive market together with Cham Tech Optical (Foshan) Corporation.
