Leadray To Tackle Emerging Markets

Leadray, Taiwanese LED street light manufacturer, opened a new office in Taipei on March 17th at the Taipei World Trade Center. The company successfully won domestic bids for street lights in 2013. Using their past experience and advantages in LED lighting, Leadray plans to actively improve the Southeast Asia and Central American markets in 2014, which lack in infrastructure and electricity.

In 2013, Leadray beat out the competition and won bids for street light installations in New Taipei City, Kaohsiung, and Tainan City. Company chairman K.F. Chen said that the company has left its mark all over Taiwan thanks to the leadership of GM Jack Lin, and is eager to begin developing globally. The company owes its success to the support from the government and local citizens.

”The Taipei World Trade Center is an important trade location in Taiwan. Once we have a steady foothold in Taiwan, we plan to deepen our global market development,” said Chris Chang, Leadray CEO. Chang also revealed that the company’s business developments in Latin America and Southeast Asia are promising and anticipate positive results to continue into the second half of this year.

Global LED lighting market opportunities in 2016 will reach NT $3 trillion (US $98.9 billion), with industrial and outdoor lighting making up around 44 percent, said Lin. Leadray plans to develop high value added 300-1000W bay lights and indoor/outdoor projection lamps in addition to street lights. The company is currently cooperating with Chinese manufacturers but did not reveal further details.
