Aoto Electronics LED Display Gross Profits Soar with World Cup Kick Off

Soccer fans long anticipated 2014 Brazil World Cup games has taken the globe by storm. Many fans might have noted the LED ad displays decorating the 12 stadiums at Rio de Janeiro. The displays are actually the works of Chinese manufacturer Aoto Electronics.

The company has raked in an estimated US $9.50 million through World Cup orders this year, which accounted 20 percent of Aoto Electronics 2013 revenue, and brought gross profits to about 50 percent, according to a Chinese media Workercn.com.

This year’s World Cup revenue is estimated to reach US $4.5 billion with a large proportion coming from sponsored ads, a British media report noted. FIFA advertisement services to sponsors explains the need for LED displays.

Challenges for using LED displays in a soccer stadium is keeping the display from being damaged by impact from soccer balls and players during games. Moreover, keeping players safe from LED displays was also crucial. In response, Aoto Electronics Vice President Yang Sihua explained, the LED displays uses patented soft masking and padding designs to prevent the display surface from being damaged or injuring soccer players upon impact.
