DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Loan Programs announced a solicitation making up to $4 billion in loan guarantees available for innovative renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in the U.S. that avoid, reduce, or sequester greenhouse gases. This solicitation represents the next step in DOE's commitment to support the deployment of innovative clean-energy technologies at commercial scale in the U.S.
Intended to support technologies that are catalytic, replicable, and market-ready, the Renewable Energy and Efficient Energy Projects Loan Guarantee Solicitation includes a sample list illustrative of potential technologies for consideration. While any project that meets the appropriate requirements is eligible to apply, DOE has identified five key technology areas of interest, including efficiency improvements. Efficiency projects may include those that improve or reduce energy usage in residential, institutional, and commercial facilities, buildings, and/or processes.
Part I applications are due by October 1. More information and application requirements can be found in the full announcement.
