Digital Lumens today announced that Dassault Falcon Jet, a subsidiary of the world’s leading aerospace company, Dassault Aviation, has deployed the Digital Lumens Intelligent LED Lighting System across its distribution center in Little Ferry, NJ, saving 90% on lighting-related energy.
Using the fully integrated system, Dassault Falcon Jet will reduce the facility’s annual energy consumption from 610,677 kWh to 62,809 kWh, cutting roughly $53,691 from the annual energy bills. They expect to save another 10% by eliminating maintenance and relamping costs associated with their previous lighting fixtures.
Dassault Falcon Jet selected the Digital Lumens system to replace their metal halides and T8 fluorescents due to the dramatic energy savings and LightRules® lighting and energy management software. Being able to fine-tune lighting output settings, create profiles to match facility operating hours, and provide light only when and where needed empowered the team with the tools necessary to drive maximum energy savings and efficiency, whether working with high bay or linear fixtures.
Dassault Falcon Jet worked with energy consultant BPL Carbon Free Solutions to review a variety of lighting alternatives. “My job involves trying to save money and improve facility operations, so the biggest goal for this project was to save on electricity. As soon as BPL showed us what we could be saving with intelligent LEDs compared to what we were spending for the metal halides, it was an obvious choice for us," said James Mosca, Facility Manager for Dassault Falcon Jet. “Having the ability to change schedules and light levels anywhere in the facility means that we provide the right light in the right places. Also, being able to see the amount of electricity used and pull data to show exactly what these new lights are doing for us is incredible.”
“This was a unique project because of the range of facility activity.
