Apple HomeKit Products to Be Released Next Month

Apple recently announced it will be launching Apple HomeKit devices next month, denying a previous Fortune report that pushed back the release date to fall, according to several tech and business media reports.

The company unveiled the protocol Apple HomeKit, which enables various third party smart home devices to be linked with Apple products, according to TechCrunch.

TechCrunch obtained a statement from Apple stating:

HomeKit has been available for just a few months and we already have dozens of partners who have committed to bringing HomeKit accessories to market and we’re looking forward to the first ones coming next month.

The Apple TV will be a crucial hub for connecting gadgets. According to a MacWorld report, Apple TV owners can use Siri voice command to operate smart home gadgets.

IDevices will begin selling HomeKit-compatible switch to control doors, lights and other products in fourth quarter this year, reported Bloomberg.

Some of the major lighting manufacturers that have signed up to Apple HomeKit camp include Philips and more recently GE.
