Samsung Signs LED Component Testing Agreement with CCIC for Products Shipped to China

Samsung Electronics has recently signed a LED lighting component and module partnership service testing agreement with China Certification & Inspection Group’s (CCIC) Korean branch, reported Qianjia.com.

Under the agreement Samsung LED components and products shipped to Chinese clients will be exclusively tested, certified and inspected by CCIC to see if the products meet The China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) mark, which will be conducted by organization’s The China Quality Certification Center (CQC).

Since January 2015, Samsung has signed partnership agreements with many international testing and certification facilities including Intertek in U.S., Korea’s KLT and TÜV SÜD in Europe.

Samsung can provide clients added value services, and help them reduce LED product issues including light color quality, product efficiency, safety and other certification requirements through these agreements. Regional LED standards vary, and the testing and certification process can be very complicated involving high costs or long periods.

“By signing this agreement we can offer clients more added value and technology support,” said Sung-Kwan Lim, Vice President of LED Quality Team, Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to expand our certified technology support field, and will be releasing smart lighting system platforms soon.”

So far Samsung’s Korean and American clients have been able reduce 30%-50% of certification costs and testing time.
