Various “Holiday Collection” Seasonal Lights

Product description

This recall involves various Holiday Collection Christmas Lights. The Canadian Tire SKU number can be found on the box or receipt and by the CSA file numbers 224823 which can usually be found on the manufacturer's product identification label, which is a tag affixed to the wire of the light string. These CSA file numbers are not embossed on the plug of the light string; the numbers found on the plug relate only to that specific plug component and are not part of this recall.

Hazard identified

Testing by Health Canada has determined that the recalled seasonal lights may pose a fire and electric shock hazard to consumers.

Health Canada has received one report from a consumer of minor electric shock related to the use of the multi-coloured lights. Canadian Tire has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these recalled lights.

Number sold

Approximately 861,750 units of the seasonal lights were sold at Canadian Tire stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from August 2015 through December 2015.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected Christmas lights and return them to their local Canadian Tire store for a refund.
