Samsung Refutes Korean Media Claims of LED Business Implementing Unpaid Leave Scheme

A representative from Samsung Electric has recently rebutted Korean media Edaily report recent claims it has rolled out unpaid vacation schemes for employees working in its LED business department.

In an email correspondence with LEDinside, the representative wrote that an article published on Jan. 8, 2016 “refers to online publications, erroneously stating that Samsung's LED business team is planning to require a month of unpaid leave for its employees. Such speculations are false and groundless.”

“Samsung Electronics continues to see its LED component business as an area of long-term growth and remains committed to its operations in every regard,” he added.

Online media including Korean media Edaily and Taiwanese media DIGITIMES claimed two weeks ago that the company implemented an unpaid leave scheme and asked employees to compulsory take a one month break without pay.
