Samsung Display published a patent application that demonstrates an OLED-based flexible 3-in-1 device that can function as a watch, a phone, and even a tablet, reported SAMMobile.
The patent application ‘Device using stretchable display and controlling method of the same’ was filed nearly 18 months ago at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. The multifunctional flexible display can be folded into a smartwatch, stretched out into phone, and even a tablet.
The versatile display can be bent, folded and stretched into different shapes and form factors, according to the filed patent. Samsung has filed patents for a stretchable display, but this is the first to show more than concrete application for related technology.
The article noted the patent was a conceptual patent rather than an actual product.
