Everlight Wins Taiwan White LED Patent Invalidation Lawsuit Against Nichia

Everlight stated in a press release that Taiwan’s Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) ruled Nichia’s white LED patent TW 383508 was invalid on July 28, 2016.

The patent scope which covers YAG phosphor powder applications on a flat white LED light source was ruled invalidated on the basis that it lacked any new and useful improvement by TIPO.

Everlight filed for Nichia's white LED patent invalidation in Taiwan back in August 2011.
