Osram Joins BACnet International As a Step Forward to Building Automation

The BACnet community announced yesterday that Osram has lately become the newest company to join BACnet International as a Silver member. The involvement of the lighting manufacturer marks a tighter bond between advanced smart lighting and BACnet protocol. It is possible in the future to see Osram’s products being able to communicate with more building automation devices smarter through BACnet’s systems.

“Through our new BACnet International membership, Osram is able to offer our ENCELIUM Light Management System as a BTL-certified solution, enabling the easy exchange of data with building automation systems via the BACnet protocol,” said Ross Eberlin, Digital Systems product manager at Osram, Americas Region. “We believe our BACnet International membership will enable Osram to actively expand our range of BACnet products and services in support of our broad customer base.”

Osram joins more than 125 leading building automation suppliers as BACnet International members supporting promotion of BACnet as a global communications protocol.
