LITE-ON Technology reported March consolidated revenue of NT$18.98 billion, up 46% M-o-M, and decreased 1% Y-o-Y. Thanks to stable end demand from core businesses, cumulative sales for January and March totaled NT$48.53 billion.
Optoelectronics business segment contributed a 26% share of total sales. Thanks to the growing demand from invisible LED, ongoing market share gains in LED components, smooth delivery of LED vehicle lighting, coupled with street lighting’s increased shipment to Middle East market, overall LED related products posted a growth of over 10% Y-o-Y.
Information Technologies business accounted for 49% of sales, of which, ongoing delivery growth of high-end server and networking power management systems for cloud computing as well as power supplies for AI Smart Home devices, supported Power Systems to achieve a yearly growth of over 10% in March.
In addition, the Storage segment accounted for 19% of total revenue, posted a yearly growth of 20% approximately.

Meanwhile, AU Optronics announced its unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$25.55 billion for March 2018, up by 12.7% month-over-month and down by 17.7% year-over-year. Consolidated revenues in the first quarter of 2018 were NT$74.44 billion, down by 7.7% quarter-over-quarter and 15.9% year-over-year.
Shipments of large-sized panels for LCD TV, desktop monitor, notebook PC, and other applications were around 10.06 million units in March 2018, up by 11.8% month-over-month. As for small-and-medium-sized panels, the shipments were approximately 17.28 million units, up by 36.6% month-over-month.
In the first quarter of 2018, large-sized panel shipments totaled 28.58 million units, down slightly by 0.2% quarter-over-quarter and up by 5.0% year-over-year. Shipments of small-and-medium-sized panels in the same quarter were around 46.57 million units, down by 0.8% quarter-over-quarter and up by 27.8% year-over-year.
