Horticulture Lighting for Medical Plants Market

The Swedish LED lighting supplier for greenhouse and controlled plant growth environment, Heliospectra AB, reported that Medical 420, a Macedonia based medicinal cannabis cultivation facility placed a new order to Heliospectra AB to increase the capacities for the growing medical market.

The two companies started their partnership in 2017 when Medical 420 planned to set up a new vertical cultivation facility in Macedonia and selected Heliospectra’s intense E60 series. The LED grow light fixture provides an optimized spectrum for year-round production. With the new order, Heliospectra's intelligent Elixia™ will be installed. The horticulture lighting installation helps to accelerate production cycle and to improve the quality of crops.

The Republic of Macedonia legalized medical use cannabis in 2016, following other European countries like the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Portugal. The production is not monopolized by the state in Macedonia, unlike other EU countries, thus the medicinal cannabis is open to both local and international markets.

Tony Gasovski, founder and owner of Medical 420, said, "With Heliospectra we have been able to standardize our products to the highest quality while increasing yields. As the medical market is growing, our operations are expanding and we remain entirely committed to supplying our customers and patients with consistent medical products and effective treatments."
