Coretronic Aims to Mass Produce Mini LED Displays in 2019

The Taiwanese backlight module and projector producer Coretronic held the earnings conference call of Q2 on July 24th and claimed that the company’s business has not been influenced by the tariff imposed by the U.S. government.

With the growth of shipment and the enhancement of production efficiency, the Q2 revenue of Coretronic came to NT$13.94 billion (US$ 455.82 million), with an increase of 13% QoQ and 17% YoY. The company expects to boost the shipment of backlight module and EMS by two digits in Q3.

Sarah Lin, President of Coretronic, said the company will continue to improve its core technologies and to provide diversified displays targeting the high value markets including automotive application, gaming display and others. It is expected that the business will grow steadily as the peak quarter is approaching.

Regarding the development of Mini LED technology, Lin noted that Coretronic has been working with projects based on the demands of clients and might be able to mass produce Mini LED products next year.
