Heliospectra to Provide Horticulture Lighting Solutions to European Growers

Heliospectra, the Swedish horticulture LED lighting solution provider, has reported new orders from John Innes Center, a British research center, and F&M 2017 DOO, a Macedonian medicinal cannabis provider.

UK-based John Innes Centre focuses on researches on plant science and uses speed breading to accelerate research on wheat and other crops. The institute has installed Heliospectra’s LED grow light for its research project and successfully speeded up the growing cycle of wheat. John Innes Centre has ordered new ELIXIA and EOS lights from Heliospectra and selected helioCORE light control software to run the new glasshouse. The orders will be delivered by the first quarter of 2019.

“Heliospectra has given us a durable lighting solution that gives us full control of our grow light environment and aided us in producing some amazing research results. Furthermore, LED lighting is a sustainable option that has helped us reduce energy consumption to save money, reduce pollution and minimize environmental footprint,” said Dr. Brande Wulff, Project Leader Crop Genetics at the John Innes Centre.

In addition, F&M 2017 DOO, a medicinal cannabis grower based in Macedonia also increased its order for Heliospectra’s LED growing light including ELIXIA LED grow lights and HelioCORE light control software. When working with the intelligent control system, the LED growing lights provide adjustable spectrum solutions to ensure the indoor crops receive perfect lighting.

Fatmir Merkaj, Owner F&M 2017 DOO, said, “The Heliospectra solution allows us to automate our light environment while providing us with a proven solution to control yields and most importantly deliver consistent, pharmaceutical-grade products to our customers with each harvest cycle.”
