The Canadian startup unveiled its first high ppi Micro LED display of 6000 ppi with a high brightness of 10,000s nits in 2017. In addition to 100,000s nit displays, VueReal’s technology also boost display resolution for AR/VR applications.
Ehsan Fathi, VP of Device Technology at VueReal, added that “to demo the capability of our technology, we set a team challenge to break our own world record of 6600 ppi (pixel per inch) set in 2017, and we achieved that by producing an over 30,000 ppi Micro LED array.”
In 2018, the company partnered Veeco Instrument for developing key technologies and proprietary processes to tackle barriers of Micro LED production. VueReal has also closed its US$10.5 million Series A funding and announced CAD$8.5 million in funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
VueReal will showcase its Micro LED products and technology at Display Week in San Jose, California May 13th to 17th.
