Korean Equipment Maker Charm Engineering to Adds Micro LED Business

The South Korean equipment manufacturer Charm Engineering is extending its business towards Micro LED display and built partnership with Korea Photonics to develop related technologies.

According to Charm Engineering, the company is expanding its display repairing business from OLED display to Micro LED display with its newly developed TFT array defective wiring repair equipment, reported ETnews, an online media in South Korea.

The equipment provider also reported that it has signed a MOU with Korea Photonics Technology Institute (KOPTI) who possesses Micro LED technology. The collaboration enables Charm Engineering to access Micro LED technology from KOPTI for the business development for Micro LED display repairing as well as other applicable area such as lighting and bio-medical applications.

Seeing the potential of Micro LED, Charm Engineering notes the importance of repairing process for Micro LED display and aims to apply its technology to the next-gen display technology focusing firstly on fixing defective wiring.
