HGC Unveils Mini LED Backlight Series at DIC EXPO 2021

On June 30, HGC (Wuhan) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “HGC”) unveiled its latest Mini LED backlights at DIC EXPO 2021 held in Shanghai, China.

HGC also exhibited Mini LED backlighting display products of different specs and series, including two 27-inch Mini LED displays (featuring the COB BLU and POB BLU solutions, respectively), 12.3-inch and 27-inch Mini LED backlight sources, DCAM lamps, and LED chips, of which the applications span from smartphones, tablets, notebooks, displays, TVs, commercial monitors, to vehicle mounted displays.

Notably, HGC’s POB solution of Mini LED backlights adopts the company’s patented Mini LED chip design and self-developed DCAM packaging technology, whereby packages with a size of 1.1 to 1.2 times the chip can be produced, enabling multiple dimming functions, high dynamic range imaging, and a million-to-one contrast ratio; a product made using such solution can achieve 85%–92% NTSC gamut with >1200 nits of brightness. Further, the company’s QD-film-free design guarantees automotive-grade reliability, allowing the product to remain stable under extreme conditions such as high temperatures and low temperatures.

Additionally, HGC’s low OD ultra-thin product series—the company’s flagship Mini LED backlight display series in 2021—comprise various application solutions that have gained favor of major players in all fields, with products having been shipped in small batches. Engineered with the Mini LED backlighting technology, the series boast largely improved product performance and commercialization value.

Reportedly, HGC has long focused on developing strategies for Mini/Micro LEDs, fine-pitch LED displays, backlights, and vehicle mounted light sources since 2017, all of which cover the design, manufacturing, and sales of chips, packaging and testing services, and modules related to the entire supply chain. HGC has established in-depth partnerships with various leading panel suppliers and has shipped products of different sizes in small batches.

Currently, HGC has shipped its Mini LED light source products in batches for two panel giants in China and abroad, officially becoming their supplier. The business has also delivered batches of Mini LED light source products ready for commercial mass production and sales. (Summarized by LEDinside)
