The headlight bulb’s compact design and compatible base mean broader compatibility
Suresnes, France – September 4th, 2023 – Moving up from halogen to LED just became quicker and easier with the new Philips Ultinon Access range of automotive headlight bulbs. Experience the extra brightness and performance of LED technology with these simple-to-fit lamps and benefit from the enhanced safety and longer lifetime of proven Philips quality.
Hassle-free fitment
We have made installation simple. There’s no need for compatibility checks or adapter rings: Philips Ultinon Access LED bulbs have an ultra-compact body and an integrated IEC 60061 e base. Their direct-fit design has the same footprint as halogen bulbs, allowing for straightforward installation in tight spaces. The bulbs are broadly compatible with most vehicle models[1] and easily fit into vehicles equipped with H7/H18-type bulbs.
“Installing a Philips Ultinon Access bulb is no different than, and as easy as, installing a conventional halogen bulb,” said Emmanuelle Pierre-Elien, EMEA Product Manager for LEDs at Lumileds.
Brighter, longer light beam
Generating up to 80% more brightness[2], the new Philips Ultinon Access LED range comes with a beam that provides the same luminous flux and uses less energy than comparable halogen bulbs. That means a more efficient light source that is no larger yet offers better on-road vision for greater driving precision and the ability to identify obstacles sooner and react faster, boosting road safety.
Its white color temperature of 6000 Kelvin brings a clearer, brighter view of the road, helping drivers spot potential hazards earlier.

Longer lifetime
Rigorous testing and quality control ensure the long-term durability and performance of Philips Ultinon Access LED bulbs. As a result, they offer up to three times the lifespan of equivalent halogen bulbs and produce homogeneous, uniform light throughout their operating life. This unrelenting focus on product quality is backed up by the Philips warranty, a benefit that can be extended online at Philips.com/auto-warranty[3].
Industry-compliant
Philips Ultinon Access LED bulbs have been designed from the outset to comply with automotive-industry standards on electromagnetic interference (EMI). Precision-engineered to meet the demands of modern motoring life, they integrate seamlessly with the electrical systems of most vehicles and won’t disrupt the smooth running of other components.
The Philips Ultinon Access LED range is available in the most common headlight bulb types, HL[≈H1], [≈H3], [≈H4/H19], [≈H7/H18], [≈H11], [≈HB3/HB4], [≈HIR2] and FL [≈H8/H9/H16],
The Philips Ultinon Access LED bulbs are non-ECE homologated for public roads and should only be used off-road in Europe. Drivers must comply with applicable local legal requirements.
