Yesterday, Panasonic Electric Works Co Ltd released a trimless LED lighting device — "Everleds Trimless Universal Downlight" in Japan.
It’s reported that the lighting device is for short distance lighting, features a trimless simple design and improves the appearance of showcased items with its less obtrusive presence as a fixture. It is intended for use in showcases at commercial facilities, ornament shelves in houses and so forth.
Panasonic indicated that the lighting equipment can be rotated 360° horizontally and tilted 24° vertically to light up the display as desired. In addition, the new device is suitable for close-up lighting without damaging the showpieces because LED lighting devices do not produce heat or ultraviolet rays,
The product is available in a high power type and a high color rendering type, each in white and incandescent colors. For the high power type, the luminous flux of the white-color model is 52lm, while that of the incandescent-color model is 42lm. For the high color rendering type, the luminous flux of the white model is 42lm, while that of the incandescent color model is 33lm.
The product has a power consumption of 2.3W and lasts 40,000 hours. The aperture size is 45mm. The suggested retail price is ¥14,700, including tax. The LED power unit is separately available at ¥5, 145, including tax. The company aims to sell 1,200 units in fiscal 2009.
