Sharp Releases Industrial LCDs with LED Backlighting Technology

Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas (SMA), announced the availability of two industrial LCD modules 10.4-inch model and 15.0-inch model. Both displays feature LED backlighting rated up to 50,000 hours of operation in all temperature ranges.

SMA said the displays are ideal for a number of industrial and vertical applications, with added benefit for the medical industry. The 10.4-inch panel provides optimal performance in temperatures as low as -30EsC. This is one of several features Sharp incorporates into its Strong 2-rated LCDs in order to meet the demands of realistic industrial environments. The 15.0-inch transmissive XGA landscape-mode panel features a very fast response time and hard coating, ideal for outdoor and point-of-purchase applications.

For medical applications, LEDs reduce radio frequency noise - literally vital when patient monitors require data channels free of radio frequency (RF) interference. Other industrial applications include transportation, factory automation, test and measurement, gaming, and ATMs.

Sharp's dedicated sales and field applications engineering team supports OEM and Integration Partners throughout the design cycle. This helps ensure that these modules' unique features are leveraged to meet the specific demands of most any industry solution challenge.
