A total of 8,875 ThinkLite LED retrofit tubes were recently installed in Boston’s Prudential Center Garage, the largest parking garage in New England. This immediately reduced energy consumption for lighting by a dramatic 73% from the existing 32W Fluorescent tubes, down to a ThinkLite 8W LED Retrofit Tube kit.

Micro-LEDs, why do we love you so much, when commercialization will take another five to ten years? Despite the long incubation period ahead before micro-LED screens can reach mass production stage, Facebook’s VR subsidiary Oculus announced it absorbed Irish micro-LED company InfiniLED. These displays adopt fewer LEDs and have larger pitches between each LED, generating relatively lower resolution. On October, 14, 2016, in a lawsuit filed by Nichia Corporation (“Nichia”) against Tachibana Eletech Co., Ltd (“Tachibana”) and E&E Japan Co., Ltd. (“E&E”), which companies imported and/or sold Blue LEDs manufactured by a Taiwanese company, Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., (“Everlight”), the Tokyo District Court found that the importation/sale of those Blue LEDs by E&E and Tachibana constituted infringement of Nichia's patent.
