Formosa, Genesis and Delta reported December revenues

LED chipmaker Formosa Epitaxy 's December revenues fell 25% sequentially to NT$300 million (US$10.23 million), and revenues for 4Q10 came to NT$1.1 billion, down 23% sequentially. But the company's full-year revenues increased 121.5% from 2009 to NT$4.64 billion thanks to strong TV backlight demand.

The company indicated the decline was a short-term trend due to clients digesting inventory at year's end, and expected January revenues to return to about NT$400 million. Its 2011 consolidated revenues were expected to jump to NT$7 billion.

Genesis had also announced December revenues of NT$340 million, up slightly by 0.5% sequentially. Revenues for 4Q came to about NT$1 billion, up 11% sequentially due to strong shipments for the TV backlight segment.

Delta Electronics posted consolidated revenues of NT$14.54 billion (US$496.34 million) for December, down 10% sequentially but up 17% on year, and the whole year revenues for 2010 totaled NT$171.3 billion, up 36% compared to NT$125.51 billion for 2009.

In 2011, Delta noted that industrial automation, photovoltaic (PV) inverter and LED businesses would have the most significant growth, and the company would only be affected a little by the weak season and labor shortages.
