Permlight Launches New LED Light Engines to Meet New Energy Star Requirements

LED Light Engines manufacturer Permlight Products, Inc., recently released its new catalog of Brillia® LED light engines for luminaire manufacturers to meet the new requirements set by EPA for ENERGY STAR luminaires.

It’s said that on February 16, 2011, EPA released the new ENERGY STAR Luminaires Specification which will become effective October 1, 2011.According to the new specification, luminaires that are not specifically defined as directional luminaires do not require full photometric testing and can qualify using LED Light Engines that have at least 800 lumens minimum and have efficacy of at least 65 lumens per Watt.

Chris Primous, Director of Sales for Brillia said that "We are pleased that EPA has added a path to ENERGY STAR qualification using LED light engines and are eager to help luminaire manufacturers use Brillia products to meet the requirements."
