Corbett Lighting Allures and Amazes with 2013 Fascination Collection

Series Embodies Brand’s Signature Style for Creating Artful Lighting

Corbett Lighting, celebrated for fashion-forward designs presents the Fascination Collection, which premiered at the January 2013 Buyers Market held in Dallas. Fascination features 10 new series, the bulk of which offer variations on each design in the form of pendants, chandeliers, flush- and semi-flush mounts and sconces, offering myriad attractive selections for residential, retail, office and hospitality specifications. Corbett Lighting, known for incorporating precious metals, imported crystals and stones, exotic woods, handmade paper and artisan craftsmanship once again redefines decorative lighting with new releases for 2013.

“Conforming to our brand’s long-standing tradition of unveiling statement-making lighting fixtures, Fascination does not disappoint," said Steve Nadell, president, Corbett Lighting. “Corbett Lighting signifies a level of refinement unmatched by others in that we employ old-world techniques and incorporate exemplary materials and embellishments combined with original designs. I am convinced that this is only one of many reasons that sets us apart from the competition."

Leading the pack of introductions, Houdini. Vibrant, this daredevil series imposes open squares tilted on a diagonal with candelabra-style bulbs frame balanced inside. The framed open “interiors” features alternating chandeliers, some with crystal cylinders, others with crystal droplets, varying with smoke and clear tones. Houdini’s hand-cast iron textured and straight- edged frames are dipped in delicate silver and gold leaf, which is offset by polished stainless steel accents and a two-toned square canopy. Also noteworthy, Houdini pendants incorporate aircraft cable suspension, a first for Corbett Lighting. Available in triple four + four + four and double four + four light pendants, two 28" sized four-light pendants as well as two 9" x 14" sconces, all of which can be specified in either candelabra configuration, tilted left or right. As the name suggests, Houdini provides a lighting solution worthy of the term “death-defying,” or at the very least jaw-dropping and unexpected.

Big Bang signifies another noteworthy addition. The exuberant piece—offered as a pendant or sconce—infuses color and warmth and seems a perfect addition to any interior. Characterized by a vintage-type sunburst design that glistens with multi-colored cut-glass jewels, Big Bang is peppered with amethyst and clear tones. At the center, an oversized smoked glass diffuser anchors the piece, which is accented with a silver leaf finish. Sparing no details, Big Bang’s canopy is two-toned, combining polished stainless steel with gold edging.

Poetry offers an artful and kinetic light source. The orbital piece is sure to inspire excitement as spiky stems (made from walnut) spear through fluttering metallic sheets. Available as a 12-, nine-, six- or three-light pendant or as a four-light sconce, Poetry seems to swirl and move. A hang straight canopy and hand-crafted iron frame and Tranquility silver leaf finish provide balance.

Sure to appeal to design aficionados seeking edge, Method is a mélange of squares combining clear and smoke crystals in a rectangular configuration. Approved for ADA-use, Method may be specified as a three- or two-light sconce.

With its elegant, elongated crystal column, Party Girl seems destined for the runway, but has roots in early 20th century nouveau design. With an elegant silver leaf finish, the fixture’s design is enhanced with touches of clear and iridescent crystals. While the crystals command attention, the delicate bobeche detailing completes the one-light sconce. Well-suited for residential or hospitality use.

Taking a cue from 1950’s inspired orbit chic is the Spellbound series. Using high-powered and ultra thin LED in the fixture, the flat-edged, widely spaced spiral pendant is enhanced by the bold diagonal that runs through Spellbound’s center. Available in high-polished finishes, including Tranquility silver leaf, Spellbound will counter any room’s static quality by providing an invigorating and captivating light source. The sconce version is now offered in a white finish, complementing any color scheme or providing minimal distraction.
