The chairman of Unity Opto, Qinghui Wu, expressed on June 21 that all the LED plants are profitable this year because the capacity utilization has almost reached a high standard and the decline in value has reached a stage; the lighting device will be the greatest driver of growth of LED industry.
 
Qinghui Wu pointed out that the future of LED industry is bright; the backlit field is expected to grow in the next two years, after which it will enter a stable stage; while the lighting industry will continue to grow in the next five to seven years. Unity Opto achieved its revenue of NTD 7.7 billion in last year, its revenue in this year is expected to reach NTD 10 billion, and the LED industry will no longer be one of the four miserable industries.

The revenue of Unity Opto in this year mainly comes from street light, indoor lighting and engineering lighting, each part is expected to take up one third of the lighting revenue, and automotive lighting is ready this year, it is expected to achieve significant growth in production capacity next year. Overall lighting revenue will be increased from last year's 20-25% to 30%, the major markets are in Europe and America.

Qinghui Wu stressed that the performance of Unity Opto in the lighting market this year is good, it has achieved orders of 100,000 tubes and 50,000 lights from Europe, and an order of more than NTD 10 million from the United States will be placed in the second half of this year. It is expected to ship up to 100,000 street lights around this year. In addition, the backlight field will grow rapidly in the third quarter.
