Compared with the original MaxBright, the MaxBright MHP showed a 20% improvement of the LED chip wavelength uniformity. Thermal management and process compatibility are also improved so that each reaction process will improve the uniformity. The company has greatly enhanced the yield of 2-inch and 4-inch wafers by using the FlowFlange technology, thus they received the MOCVD with the Best Yield award.

As for mass produced products, AIXTRON’s new G5+ has an output that is significantly greater than that of G5; it is able to produce five 8-inch epitaxial wafers at a time, and as one of the equipments with high efficiency, it is the MOCVD reaction system that can produce the largest amount of 8-inch LED chips. This product also applies the rotation system in order to maintain uniformed LED chip production, and it is precisely managed by a management system. 8-inch LED chips require a fine management system in order to avoid yield loss. Larger chips may require an even more careful management during the production process.
The epitaxy process requires a new management method to control the gas flow and deposition. This device also supports LED epitaxial silicon substrates. According to current investigations, the 4-inch and 6-inch products produced by the company’s system showed an increased efficiency and yield. The G5+ has therefore received the MOCVD with the Highest Efficiency award.
