BOE Announces 5.5 Generation AMOLED Production Line

BOE announced the 5.5 generation AMOLED production line to be established in the still under construction subsidiary Ordos BOE. The production line will be the first in China and second in the world to launch productions.


The 5.5 generation  AMOLED production line will enter production phase on November 21st at the factory based in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ordos. The new production line highlights innovation and in-house developed technology in newly designed semiconductors to begin production operations. The company has invested RMB 22 billion (US $3.6 billion) in the project. The factory will be 467 K square meters in size and have a production capacity of 54 K pieces of glass substrates a month. Main products to be produced include small and medium-sized LTPS and high-end AMOLED display components.
