Engineering Products and Aleddra Partner to Offer Cost-Effective Retrofit Solution for Converting T12 Strip Light Fixtures to Energy-Efficient Linear LED Fixtures

Engineering Products Co., a supplier of specialty lighting and wiring consumable products for electrical contractors, and Aleddra LED Lighting, a LED tube manufacturer, announced that the two companies will jointly offer a complete retrofit lighting solution that converts older, four- or eight-foot T12 strip light fixtures into energy-efficient fixtures using linear LED lamps.

The T12 fluorescent lamp that had been used in commercial and industrial lighting systems for many years was phased out in 2012 because of high-energy consumption by the Department of Energy's 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act. Replacement with a linear LED lamp is a logical choice, given its 50,000-plus-hour rating and significant energy savings. However, there are no eight-foot LED lamps that currently meet UL's 17.6-ounce weight limit. Therefore, the most cost-effective alternative is to convert the eight-foot strip light fixture to two four-foot linear LED lamps using the EPCO UL-listed T8 Retrofit Conversion Kit™, which includes Aleddra's EasiRetrofit® tube. It is the safest LED tube on the market, thanks to its dual-safety switch that protects installation and maintenance crews from electrical shock. In addition, it works perfectly with the shunted lamp holders that are supplied in EPCO's T8 Retrofit Conversion Kit.

"We are pleased to offer our customers EPCO's T8 Retrofit Conversion Kit," said Patrick Yu, Aleddra General Manager. "This product is very well accepted in the industry for eight-foot tube conversion, and is by far the highest quality of its kind. Our customers can now purchase the kit directly from us or from EPCO's regional distributors."

EPCO National Sales Manager Mark Lindstrom says, "Aleddra is in line with our focus on making the installer's job easy. Aleddra's EasiRetrofit tube is well known for its easy installation, making it ideal for our T8 Retrofit Conversion Kit. This is a great value for our customers and distributors."

Aleddra's double-ended EasiRetrofit LED tube is UL 1598C classified and its four-foot models are on the DLC (Design Lights Consortium) qualified product list for rebate. It comes with five-year and 50,000-hour lifetime warranties and is available in two-, three-, four-, and five-foot lengths and color temperatures of 3000K, 4100K, 5000K, and 6000K.
