Global LED Bulb Prices Stabilized in July 2014

LED bulb prices stabilized in July 2014, according to a latest report from LEDinside, a research subdivision of TrendForce. The research organization noted, in general the global market underwent small price fluctuations. Only a few markets had seen large price fluctuations because of sales promotions, and overall bulb prices declined the most in Germany.

The research organization’s latest statistics revealed 40W equiv. LED bulbs retail prices incrementally increased by 0.6 percent, with Average Sales Price (ASP) still around US $14.4. However, the German market saw 40W equiv. LED bulb prices drop 5.4 percent last month. Most bulbs on the German market saw prices steadily fall, and rising currency exchange rates contributed to declining ASP. The 40W equiv. LED bulbs in Japan also saw prices drop 1.2 percent among existing products. Although, most product prices remained the same, some product prices dropped more than others, for instance the price of Irish Oyama 8.8W LED bulb which has a luminous flux of 500 lm plunged from US $15.8 to US $5.8.
