The shipped amount of ceiling light in 2014 accounts for 38% of the total shipment value of all lights in China lighting E-commerce market, ranking first place with the highest shipments among all lighting products, according to the latest “2015 Chinese Lighting E-commerce Market Analysis” released by LEDinside, a research subsidiary of the Taipei-based market intelligence company TrendForce.

Residential lighting products are consumer goods directly to end users, so with completely different flow characteristics from commercial lighting and outdoor lighting. The latter two mainly depend on project channels, while residential lighting relies more on direct-to-consumer distribution channels like hardware stores, lighting plazas and supermarkets. B2C model significantly reduces procurement cost for consumers, making resident lighting gradually to be the largest item in lighting E-commerce market, of which ceiling light taking up the most.
LEDinside said that the total sales of ceiling light from January to November of 2014 in Taobao and Tmall reached 12.77 million sets, turnover of 3.021 billion RMB, the average price of 236.6 RMB, significant growth in sales monthly. Affected by the activities about "Double eleven” in November, the trading volume significantly increased. Adding up the turnover in Jingdong, Suning.com and other E-commerce platforms, the network-wide sales of ceiling light in 2014 is expected to be approximately 4.5 billion RMB.

However, the best-selling ceiling light brand is Opple, total sales during January to November amounted to 290 million RMB, NVC and aozzo following closely. Philips ranked fourth with sales of 88 million RMB. Some unknown brands also edged into the top 10 in this ceiling light segment, such as the SHINE and Donglian, who surpassed Panasonic to be the fifth and sixth. Duer scraped into the top 10 with the best-selling item around the whole network. These emerging brands provide good examples for small and medium businesses to develop E-commerce market.
