Apple iPhone 7 Rumored to Feature OLED Screens

News Source:

Apple’s long term OEM Foxconn and Innolux will be producing OLED displays for upcoming iDevices, according to a report from Japanese media, Nikkan Kogyo Shumbun.

In November, the two companies jointly invested $2.6 billion to construct a display factory that will be supplying Apple with OLED panels for a five-inch smartphone display and wearable devices.

The smartphone is estimated to have a resolution of 400 pixels per-inch, very similar to current resolutions found in the iPhone 6 plus. According to a Motely Fool report, this could mean the iPhone 7 will be featuring an OLED display.

In addition to securing OLED supplies, Apple has also been awarded a flexible OLED display patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office earlier this month.
