It’s finally possible to learn Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune or play pop hits such as See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth by following LED lights on The One Smart Piano.

Earlier in March this year, Opho made technology news headlines with its colorful LED keyboards that guided users through music sheets, but new competitor the One Smart Piano is trying to step up the game by offering a more comprehensive music repertoire. The company has teamed up with the world’s two largest sheet music publishers Alfred and Hal Leonard to offer more than 1,000 electronic classical music scores for free, while $0.99 is charged for each pop music sheet.

Moreover, The One Smart Piano design resembles traditional Grand Piano, while the One Light Keyboard is more similar to the electronic keyboard. The One Smart Piano has 88 weighted keys that can be lit up with LEDs, while the keyboard version One Light Keyboard has 61 LED keyboards.

The company has offered few details about the LEDs found in the piano and keyboard, only explaining the product is manufactured in Shenzhen, China.

Piano teachers probably will not be replaced anytime soon, as the main aim of the company is to help people pick up music score reading skills in a relatively short period.

Early supporters of the company’s Indiegogo campaign will be able to receive the One Smart Piano for US$ 799 about a 50% discount from the expected retail price of $1,500. Those that prefer the One Light Keyboard can acquire the instrument for US $200.

Just four days into its Indiegogo campaign, the company has raised $101,704.
