A Kickstarter campaign called OnCourse Goggles launches crowd funding for a pair of goggles that helps athletes swim in straight line with LED signal lights.

Sports like triathlon usually requires swimmers and athletes to swim in open water area. However, the biggest difficulty lies in the absence of navigating beacon in the middle of lakes. When there are no navigation or swimming lanes, swimmers tend to struggle keeping a straight route.

A team try to provide a practical solution to swimmers who find zig-zagging in open water area annoying and time-consuming by tracking swimmers’ route with electronic goggles.

The product named OnCourse Goggles accommodates delicate high-precision electronic compass which delivers feedback through different lights color from a LED bulb that situates in the upper frame of each eyepiece.

With an electronic circuit board installed to the goggle, the team minimizes the operation at user’s side. Users can store the direction by one single press on the button. The goggle then keeps track on the stored direction and gives simultaneously feedback to the swimmer through a small LED array in each eyepiece.

The LED lights go green when the swimmer are on the right track while yellow and red signal different off-track degree. When the swimmer reach the first buoy and aim for the next new goal, a simple press will set OnCourse Goggle for the new destination.
