Rural Agri Ventures Enters LED Lighting Sector

Rural Agri Ventures, a business incubation firm based in Gurgaon, India, that specializes in assisting the agribusiness sector recently announced the launch of an affordable LED product ‘My Way’, according to a report from Indian media The Hindu.

The initiative was taken to contribute to the National Energy Conservation Movement, which the company estimated that sales of the product would save 1.9 million kilo-watts (kW) of energy leading to about INR 14.7 million (US $230,000) in savings for consumers.

The company aims to provide clean efficient lighting to millions of Indians throughout the country, especially in rural areas, according to a written statement. Rural Agri Ventures businesses comprise of LED lighting, solar energy, agricultural solutions, according to its company introduction.

Over 35 villages are covered in Uttar Pradesh by the company, which is aiming at targeting 100 villages by the end of 2015.
