Air Europa Becomes Latest Airline to Select STG Aerospace Cabin LED Lighting

STG Aerospace, the pioneering aircraft cabin lighting company, is delighted to announce that following evaluation of all the available aftermarket LED lighting systems, leading Spanish charter airline Air Europa has chosen liTeMood® for retrofitting its fleet of 737-800 aircraft.

Installation of Air Europa’s liTeMood® systems took place in October and November, and although this will be the first time the airline has installed STG Aerospace’s LED lighting, many of its aircraft are already fitted with the company’s market leading saf-Tglo® photoluminescent emergency floorpath marking and saf-Tsign® signage products.   From its main base at Palma de Mallorca Airport, Air Europa operates scheduled services to destinations across Europe and long-haul flights to North and South America.

Fast becoming the market leading solution, liTeMood® is a true plug-and-play, fully programmable, aftermarket LED cabin lighting system designed to create a significantly improved quality and consistency of light than traditional fluorescent lighting systems.  Incorporating the latest research into the effects of ambient lighting, liTeMood® not only delivers an enhanced cabin ambience, making a positive contribution to the well-being of passengers, it also enables airlines to achieve impactful brand differentiation and improve their metrics.

Easily installed during an overnight check using the aircraft’s existing mounting points, connectors and wiring, liTeMood® is controlled via the existing flight attendant panel meaning no crew training is needed. With its significantly greater reliability compared to fluorescent systems, liTeMood® also reduces operational and maintenance costs and eliminates the “yellowing” associated with fluorescent lighting for an enhanced interior lifespan.  In addition, consuming up to 70% less power than typical original-fit fluorescent lighting and being up to 40kg lighter, liTeMood® delivers important environmental and fuel saving benefits.

“As an existing customer of saf-Tglo® photoluminescent lighting, we already held STG Aerospace in high regard," commented Alberto Linés<, Air Europa’s Maintenance & Engineering Director. "The simplicity and speed of installation was as impressive as the transformation of the cabin, and we’re now looking forward to offering our passengers an improved passenger experience with STG Aerospace’s market leading liTeMood® LED cabin lighting system.”

;This is an excellent contract win for us, particularly since it was secured against strong competition," added  Marcus Williams, STG Aerospace’s Global Sales and Marketing Director. "It’s always particularly satisfying when an existing customer like Air Europa shows their continued faith in us and this program extends our liTeMood® installations to another important European carrier.”
