Samsung’s upcoming alternative to the notification LED is named “Smart Glow”, an illuminated ring that circles the camera lens on the back of the smartphone, which glows for notification. Users will get to made customized settings, including priority alerts for incoming calls and messages, usage alerts and battery status.

The function of Smart Glow is beyond notification LED as it will assist users in taking selfies with the rear camera. Smart Glow around the camera lens will light up when detecting the face. The upcoming Galaxy J2 is expected to be launched in India in 2016. Whether Smart Glow will be used on other models remains unclear so far as Phonearena and SamMobile suggests that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may carry this new feature.
