6 Steps for a Successful EEI Registration According to SASO2870

Starting from 1st May 2016, Energy Efficiency Certificate and Label must be included as requirements for shipments of lighting products to Saudi Arabia under the scope of SASO 2870. Now importers and manufacturers have to comply with this standard and register with SASO. WELLMAX as the strategic partner with the leading testing and certification institute SGS can help you with applying the EEI label, so your business will not be affected by this new regulation.

Step 1: Manufacturer submit samples to the SGS laboratory to conduct safety, ROHS, and 6000 hours performance test

Step 2: After qualifying for sample test, SGS will issue CB, ROHS, 6000 hours report which satisfy energy efficiency standard

Step 3: SGS will ask the manufacturer to fill in related registration document according to EEI instructions.

Step 4: After above-mentioned documents and all the test report are approved on the Saudi Arabia’s registration website, the product will obtain energy efficiency label and QR code.

Step 5: The manufacturer arrange package and production once they obtained the label and QR code.

Step 6: After the manufacturer finishes producing the products, they can notify SGS to inspect goods. If the goods pass the inspection, SGS will issue SASO certificate.
