[Photos] Large Sized Lumens Micro LED Displays at CES 2018

Not just Samsung, another Korean display maker is unveiling its Micro LED displays. We covered last December that Lumens started producing two types of Micro LED displays and it alleged to bring them to CES 2018. It seems the company made it, too.

Lumens exhibits its large-sized Micro LED displays in sizes of 130” and 139”. According to the company’s description, the 139” digital signage display has ultra high definition (UHD) and features a pixel pitch of 0.8mm, while the 130” one has a resolution of 1920x1080P (FHD) and its pixel pitch is 1.5mm.

The Micro LEDs used in both signage displays are 300μm long and 100μm wide. The panel maker probably uses the technology licensed from the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) to transfer them to target backplanes.

Jung Tae-hong, President of Lumens said last year that they were also manufacturing small-sized (0.57”) automotive Micro LED head-up displays consisting of LED chips sized only 8μm. In terms of automotive display type, the company plans to produce the combiner type of displays first for the aftermarket
