Feit Electric, an established lighting manufacturer and pioneer in energy efficient lighting, announced the expansion of the company’s product line to offer a complete LED lighting program for California, compliant with the state’s more rigorous guidelines.
“Feit Electric is thrilled to celebrate its 40th anniversary of being founded and headquartered in California, and introduce a full line of lighting products with the highest level of light quality and energy efficiency, specially designed for our home state,” said Aaron Feit Founder and President Feit Electric. “We have a full CEC compliant product line available so our customers can be prepared for both voluntary and required levels of compliance with minimal supply chain disruption,” said Alan Feit Senior Vice-President Feit Electric.
In 2016 the California Energy Commission (CEC) adopted new standards updating the Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Regulations for regulated lighting products produced on or after January 1, 2018. The standards cover most screw-in or pin-based LED light bulbs purchased for commercial and residential use. They also impact small diameter directional lamps like MR16s used in specialty applications such as landscape and track lighting. The regulations include revisions to the state’s product certification process, required product specifications as well as updates to product labeling requirements. The CEC estimates that the new standards could save Californians more than $4 billion in energy costs over 13 years.
