On February 8, the company announced that it signed an OLED evaluation agreement with Kunshan Govisionox Optoelectronics, a Chinese AMOLED manufacturer. A week later, it announced another agreement signing with Samsung Display, saying a long-term supply and license agreements will continue to support the partnership with the Korean display giant.
Both agreements said that Universal Display Corporation will provide its self-developed OLED materials, UniversalPHOLED phosphorescrent OLED materials, for use of Govisionox and Samsung Display in their own displays.
“Govisionox has been at the forefront of OLED research and development, actively advancing the commercialization of AMOLEDs for a number of years. We are pleased to collaborate with Universal Display under this evaluation agreement. We believe that this partnership will further enhance our portfolio of innovative and leading display solutions for end-customers,” said Chen Gang, President of Kunshan Govisionox Optoelectronics Co.
Universal Display Corporation has been collaborating with Samsung Display for eighteen years. The long-term OLED material supply and license agreements are scheduled to run through December 31, 2022, and may be extended for an additional two-year time. Samsung will be able to use not only the UniversalPHOLED phosphorescrent OLED materials but related technology from Universal Display.
Steven V. Abramson, President and CEO of Universal Display Corporation, said the company, as a key player in the OLED ecosystem, will continue to enable its customers to make advanced OLED displays.
